  24.   You mean embedding the alpha channel with the image? Not that I'm aware
  25. of. However, IFF is a aggregate file format, allowing for multiple data
  26. types or data items in a single file. Theoretically, you could stuff an
  27. 8-bit grey alpha image in the file right after the 24-color image. An
  28. alpha-aware reader would know to check and see if there was such an image,
  29. unaware image loaders would simply stop loading after the first image was
  30. found.
